Boston Center for Adult Education The renovation includes reconfiguration of interior spaces including moving stair locations, requiring a new floor opening and closing the existing stair opening. The existing elevator needs to be replaced which requires enlarging the elevator pit and slab openings. New partial curtain wall will be installed to provide a more transparent and light façade facing Arlington Street. Irregular punched windows will replace the existing strip window. The existing grade beam needs to be cut down and reinforced at the location of new entrance doors. There will be a small canopy at entrance area. The existing concrete structure shows deterioration at some locations; details and repair program is established for correct repair. Architect: BROWN FENOLLOSA architects
